New Director of Children's Ministries

Kris Seifert

The EWO family is pleased to welcome Kris Seifert to our church staff. Kris's ministry will be focused primarily on chidren's ministries in our Sunday morning programs, up to grade six. She comes to us with many years of ministry experience and a degree in elementary education from Illinois State University. For the last five years Kris has served Bible Study Fellowship as their Children's Supervisor. Since 2004 she had been a Sunday School teacher here at East White Oak in our sixth grade class of girls.

Kris grew up here in Bloominton/Normal. During her junior year at ISU, in response to the invitation of a friend, Kris attended a "revival meeting" where she came to clearly understand her need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. After being saved Kris attended church and began to grow in her faith. Over the years she has been involved in ministry to children through Sunday School, Children's Church, and Vacation Bible School.

In 1990 Kris married Chris, who is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University where he earned a degree in Business Administration. They have two children, Adam (14) and Aaron (12).

We have been very impressed with Kris's special blend of training, experience, and desire to impact children's lives for Christ. Her past ministry experience is clear evidence that she comes to us fully prepared for the large responsibilities and opportunities that are ahead. Kris will join forces with a wonderful group of caring godly adults that make up the children's ministry staff. Put Kris on your prayer list as she gives leadership to the effort to help our EWO parents in the high calling of raising children who love God and walk in His ways.

We trust all who are a part of the EWO church family will welcome Kris and find ways to assist her in a significant way in her effort to impact children for Christ. Her first official day on staff was June 4.

A special thanks to everyone involved in ministry to children. They have served selflessly and faithfully for a period of time without adequate support. Thanks too to all those who faithfully prayed for God to provide for this need.
