Pastor Rod joined the EWO family in the early part of 2004. He did his undergraduate work at Wheaton College and received his master of divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is currently pursuing a doctor of ministry degree in preaching at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Rod's great passions are God, preaching His Word and mobilizing God's people toward effective discipleship and missionary ends. He served as a youth pastor and family pastor in Naperville, Illinois and a senior pastor in Zion, Illinois prior to coming to East White Oak. In his first three years of service at East White Oak he ministered as Pastor of Singles Ministry.
He is married to Cathy, his wife of nearly fifteen years and has three sons Daymen, Bryan and Jayson. He is thankful for a family that enjoys having fun and serving God together.
Cathy and Rod have a passion for God's missionary work and missionaries around the world. Cathy lived five years as a missionary kid in Liberia, Africa. They have been on several trips together in their married life and look forward to serving with the EWO missions program together. They consider it a privelege to encourage missionaries of EWO and inform and equip our congregation toward greater care and ministry participation with our missionaries!
Pastor Rod also supervises the Small Groups ministry at EWO and attributes his elementary "spiritual" development to his first small group experience. His youth pastor took him under his wing along with some key friends in his high school and early college days. This led to significant spiritual growth, knowledge of God's Word and a heart to serve God in a full time capacity.
If you would like to find out more about how you can get involved in our missions or small group ministry at EWO, please feel free to contact Pastor Rod.
